This is how my morning went. Yesterday I went around to the different bee yards and put Honey Supers on(The boxes on top of a hives that the bees store honey in). There were 3 boxes left in the back of my truck that I didn't use. These boxes had frames in them that were still sticky with honey from the last harvest. I closed up the back of the truck but left the window open between the cab and the bed. That was a mistake! This morning when I went out to make deliveries my truck was full of bees!!! Inside the cab and the bed. The bees found a way in and were covering the honey boxes and the inside of the bed and cab. So I tried to remove the boxes but after getting stung several times I decided I had to suit up. When bees feed on open honey boxes like this they can be aggressive and fight with one another and me. So after getting my full suit on I had to remove the boxes and shake off all the bees and put them inside so the bees couldn't get to them. Then I had to open all the windows and the tailgate and drive around the block several times to get all the bees out the truck and once they were all out I went back to get my deliveries but when I went outside the bees were still hanging around my truck looking for the honey boxes. I had to quickly get in my truck and go out for a couple hours to make deliveries to give them time to disperse the area where I park. When I got home they had moved on. I won't make that mistake again. Oh and the picture below is not related to the story but I did get stung about 15 times today.
