Our mission to you:
It is Little Legends mission to provide holistic, non-traditional, and comprehensive occupational therapy services to children ages 0-21 and their families. We want to create a safe therapy environment for children to hone on their strengths and build on their weakness to reach their maximum potential facilitating success in their daily occupations. Little legends Therapy is a pediatric occupational therapy practice in Billings, MT that opened in January of 2023. We believe in creating a therapy environment where children can feel safe to build the skills, they need to be successful in their daily occupations through play and sensory motor-based interventions. We believe in a “bottom-up” approach to therapy by addressing the foundational components and filling in the holes building on them to facilitate motivation, participation, confidence, and success in daily occupations. We provide occupational therapy services to children ages 0-21 with a wide variety of diagnosis inclusive of, but not limited to, ADHD, Dyspraxia, Anxiety, SPD, ODD, ASD, developmental delay, and social skills differences. About us:
Little Legends Therapy was founded in January of 2023 by owner and occupational therapist, Tenika Capouch. Tenika has practiced in Billings since 2018, where she noticed the ever-growing need of therapy for the pediatric population in the Billings community. Throughout her experiences as an occupational therapist, she noticed the influx of mental health diagnosis being referred to therapy. Children and teenagers with differences in self-regulation, behavioral control, sensory processing, etc. Families, caregivers, and various school staff implemented multiple different strategies that were ineffective, leaving them feeling “lost” and at the end of their rope. Tenika wanted to create a therapy practice where the approach to therapy was “non-traditional”, helping families, caregivers, school staff, and patients understand their child and themselves through a different lens, restoring hope and guiding them along the way. Meet Our Staff:

🏆 Every small win is a big step forward!

In pediatric OT, progress often shows up in tiny, powerful moments:
1. Zipping up a coat without help
2. Writing a name clearly for the first time
3. Sharing during group play

We celebrate the moments that build confidence and momentum.

❄️ Don’t let winter break freeze your child’s progress!

Winter break brings a pause in school—but therapy goals can still move forward at home:
1. Stick to consistent wake-up and meal times
2. Plan 1–2 play-based skill-building activities each day
3. Keep movement part of the daily routine

Small daily habits = steady therapy success.

📚 Back to class after holidays? It’s a lot. OT can help.

The return to school can be overstimulating and stressful. We support kids with:

1. Visual routines to ease transitions
2. Sensory tools like wiggle seats or fidgets
3. Role-playing classroom scenarios – To rebuild confidence

Help your child feel ready, not rushed.

🎲 **Why We Use Board Games in Occupational Therapy** 🎲

Board games aren’t “just play” — they’re powerful therapy tools that help kids build the skills they need for school, home, and everyday life.

Here’s what we target during board-game play:

🖐 **Fine Motor Skills**
Moving tiny pieces, spinning spinners, flipping cards, and rolling dice strengthen grasp, finger control, and dexterity.

🧩 **Visual–Motor & Visual Perception**
Tracking the game board, matching colors/shapes, and navigating spaces build essential foundational skills for handwriting and reading.

⏱️ **Executive Functioning**
Board games naturally support turn-taking, waiting, planning moves, following multi-step rules, and flexible thinking.

💬 **Social & Communication Skills**
Kids practice sportsmanship, asking for help, managing frustration, and celebrating wins (and losses!) together.

😌 **Emotional Regulation**
Games give safe opportunities to handle excitement, disappointment, surprises, and transitions.

💪 **Frustration Tolerance & Persistence**
Working through challenging moments during a game helps kids build resilience that carries into the classroom and home.

Board games make therapy feel fun — but behind the scenes, we’re building skills that support real life. 🌟

❄️ Cold can be cool—for sensory learning!

OT turns winter into a sensory playground. Try these ideas at home:

1. Freeze small toys in ice for rescue games – Builds fine motor control
2. Explore snow with bare or gloved hands – Stimulates tactile awareness
3. Use colored water and sq**rt bottles in the snow – Adds visual and motor practice

Bundle up and build those senses!
