In honor of the conclusion if National Prevention Week, we thought we would share some of our favorite facts about cannabis, the most widely used illicit drug in America.
1. Ma*****na use has been shown to cause 30% of all Schizophrenia cases in young men, 21 to 30 years old.
2. Using THC in teenage years has been linked to a 5x increase in psychotic disorders among individuals.
3. Cannabis use is also linked to an increased risk of depression, suicidal ideation, and suicidal attempts in young adulthood.
These are just a few of the possible outcomes from using ma*****na, and the rest are no better. Stay ahead of these trends, and educate those around you. To learn more about these facts, National Prevention Week, or find general drug knowledge, visit getsmartaboutdrugs.gov
