I’m ecstatic research is being published regarding TikTok and Autism. I have had many friends refer to videos seen on the platform leading to self-diagnosing. Leave the diagnosing to professionals…not social media or webmd. Though some of these videos are great to spread acceptance, awareness and for those with ASD and their loved ones to not feel alone, use caution and remember, not all information is necessarily good information.

“An examination of the top 133 videos providing informational content on autism, which totaled 198.7 million views and 25.2 million likes, showed that 27% of the videos were classified as accurate, while 41% were classified as inaccurate and 32% as overgeneralized.”

Today is a big day! Passed the EPPP aka test to be eligible to be a licensed clinical psychologist. Now to just do all my state testing which I am sure will be significantly easier. Excited to rip down the notes that have been plastered on every wall in my living room for the past month. Mississippi has a two year waitlist for Autism diagnosis and finally I will be able to help bring that down!

So proud of Breanna Newborne! I came to Jackson, MS eleven months ago with the goal to put systems into place within a clinic and determine who has the leadership qualities to take over and ensure the best ABA services continue to be offered to children in the area. Within days, Breanna stood out with her dedication to the field and how all staff look to her for guidance! Beyond excited to see the continued growth of The Growing Tree under her leadership!Time to wrap up and move into the next region in Mississippi. See you soon Gulf Coast!
