There's a question that has been puzzling/disturbing to me during this epidemic. Why do some people get so sick, and why do others not know they have the disease? While this article does help shed some light on the topic, the truth of the matter is that we just don't know. There are theories I've read that make sense. There are theories I've read that seem almost laughable. Just remember, unless there is data to support these theories, we cannot treat them as truth.

How can the new coronavirus affect people so differently — killing some while leaving others blissfully unaware that they have been infected at all?

People always ask me for knee exercises to use before and after a knee replacement surgery. Here you go!

This knee rehabilitation exercise program focuses on strengthening the muscles that support your knee to help reduce stress on your knee joint. Strong muscles help your knee joint absorb shock.

Mark Karadsheh, M.D.

Mark Karadsheh, M.D. (pronounced “Karachi”) is a Harvard-trained orthopaedic surgeon at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak and Troy, Michigan that specialized in minimally invasive joint replacements of the hip and knee, as well as complex revisions of previous hip and knee replacements.

Dr. Karadsheh, son of internal medicine physician Charlie Karadsheh, was born and raised in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan where he played competitive tennis and attended Lahser High School. He graduated from the University of Michigan Honors Program with High Distinction and stayed at the University of Michigan to obtain his medical school degree.

After medical school, Dr. Karadsheh was accepted into the Harvard Orthopaedic Residency program where he worked at Massachusetts General Hospital, currently the #1 hospital in the country. Following residency, Dr. Karadsheh was accepted to train under Dr. Berger, Dr. Paprosky, and Dr. Rosenberg at Rush University’s Adult Reconstruction Fellowship. During this time, he learned how to perform minimally invasive hip and knee replacements as well as complex revisions for infection, fracture, and pain. Between his residency and his fellowship, Dr. Karadsheh has trained at three of the top ten orthopaedic hospitals in the nation.

Through his affiliations with the Harvard, Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush, and now William Beaumont Hospital, Dr. Karadsheh has looked to advance research in joint replacement technology and clinical outcomes. Previous research includes hip replacements in patients with Parkinson’s disease and the optimal treatment of fractures around hip and knee replacements. Current research interests include pain control and infection prevention in total joint replacement. Dr. Karadsheh is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, The Michigan State Medical Society, and the Michigan Orthopaedic Society.
