Today was Wreaths Across America Day. A total of 36 wreaths were donated to this honorable event. Twenty four to Onondoga donated from Region 5 Veterans Committee and CSEA Region 5 as well twelve wreaths donated by local 449 Veterans Committee. A huge shout out to 449 Retirees Barb Bell and Donna Saddlemire for attending to the Broome County Ceremony and placing our donated wreaths on the headstones of our veterans.

Congratulations to all the direct care professionals and supervisors that completed the NADSP certification program. CSEA Local 449 commends each of you for your dedication and commitment to your profession. This program recognizes the skills, knowledge, and values of DSPs supporting people with disabilities.

Today is the first of a few. We were honored to head out to the Oxfords Vets home and delivered a few hundred cards to some of our most deserving men and woman. The smiles on their faces and the stories they told absolutely touched our hearts. A big shout out to all the Volunteers at the card writing party, Locals 449, 804 and 866 who took thr time to make this happen and spread some holiday cheer.
