For the past 31 years, we have advocated across NY State for ALL who are diagnosed with autism. We are currently working on a bill in our Senate that affects all who use "spelling and typing on boards made out of all types of material, including for some, cardboard. It has opened up their worlds. This was introduced in the Assembly by Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara and now we are looking for what we call a "Majority of the Majority"...it's up to the Democrats now. We need 7 more and for our region it is Senator Lea Webb. We call upon her to vote Yes on Senate Bill S7792b. Please write, call and message your NYS Senator to ensure that we get this bill passed that will "Ensure that each person with a disability is able to lead a life of dignity, all persons with a disability shall have the right to communicate in their preferred manner and utilize any communication supports that meet their needs, and all staff and providers under this section, shall ensure and acknowledge such rights.”

Spread The Word...To NOT use the Word.

A call out to the real impact of the R-word. It underscores that what some people treat as a joke is actually hurtful and dehumanizing. Words matter, respect...
