Meet Adam Hackett, Therapist at Longleaf Recovery Baldwin.

Adam chose a career in behavioral health after seeing firsthand how profoundly mental health shapes every aspect of a person’s life. He was drawn to the opportunity to support people who are often misunderstood or struggling in silence and to help them build insight, skills, and a renewed sense of agency.

Adam says the most meaningful part of his work is the therapeutic relationship and creating an environment where people feel safe, respected, and understood.

And something people might not know about him
Adam can name all 150 original Pokémon, technically 151.

We are grateful to have clinicians like Adam who lead with compassion and intention.

What resonated with you most?

Meet Zach Carlton, our newest Intake teammate here at Longleaf Corporate!

Zach was drawn to behavioral health after experiencing firsthand the impact that compassionate, knowledgeable support can have during recovery. Inspired by those who helped him along the way, he now works closely with families navigating substance use challenges, helping them understand options and feel less alone in the process.

Zach says the most rewarding part of his work is using his own experience to offer hope and perspective to others during some of their hardest days.

We are grateful to have team members like Zach who lead with empathy and purpose.

What stood out to you most about his story?
We would love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

Longleaf Recovery & Wellness will host a free continuing education training in February focused on recognizing and responding to relapse risk among individuals in recovery.

The two-hour course, titled “Understanding Relapse Risk: Recognition and Response,” is scheduled for Thursday, February 26, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. CST at 2501 International Park Drive in Birmingham.

The event will be offered as a continuing education opportunity for clinicians and treatment professionals.

According to event materials, the training examines relapse prevention through a neurobehavioral and clinical, process-oriented framework, presenting relapse as a predictable and preventable progression rather than a single incident.
