The mall is a great place to stay warm, shop, and practice English all at the same time. Here is a video with some good "Shopping Mall" vocabulary. Our local mall in Birmingham is called the "Galleria."

English "Shadowing" involves listening to an audio and quickly repeating what you heard. You listen closely to the words and then say them back out loud.

Shadowing is a fun way to practice your pronunciation, especially when you choose one of your favorite English speakers to listen to. You can choose your favorite podcaster, super hero, musician, or anyone else!

Our "Speechcraft" public speaking class has been a major success this semester, and I want to thank everyone who joined us!

We are going to offer a similar course in the spring. Speechcraft is an "Introduction to Public Speaking" class that will help you learn the fundamentals of powerful communication. You'll give short speeches with friends and receive evaluations after those speeches.

We've had a great October so far!

Our meeting on Tuesday was jam packed and we were happy to welcome our newest member, Ryan. 10 members and 5 visitors, we are continuing to grow!

Our next meeting is Monday, October 20th, at 12:00 PM CST. This is a hybrid meeting - we will meet in person at the Bevill building and our Zoom information can be found at our website, uab.toastmastersclubs.org.
