The article examined the potential applications and risks of GLP-1 medications, with Dr. El-Rayes emphasizing the importance of continued research to better understand their impact and long-term implications.

Doctors say the class of medications that includes Ozempic and Zepbound still offers health benefits for people with diabetes and obesity.

The Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama (BCRFA) announced a grant investment of $1.2 million at its luncheon celebration held December 11 at The Club. This investment will fuel 25 breast cancer research projects at institutes across the state.

Founded in 1996, the BCRFA is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to find a cure for breast cancer by funding promising breast cancer research in Alabama and raising community awareness and funding for that research. The O’Neal Cancer Center is grateful for their continued support!

The UAB O’Neal Cancer Center is pleased to announce that the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama (BCRFA) has generously funded two grants through the 2025 fall cycle of O’Neal Invests. These recipients are Sooryanarayana Varambally, Ph.D., and Nicole Henderson, Ph.D.

The O’Neal Cancer Center Board of Advisors’ Patient and Family Services Committee spent a heartwarming evening at the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge, providing dinner and musical entertainment for guests staying during their cancer treatment journey.
