One of the greatest exploration stories to be told is of the Endurance with Earnest Shackelton's crew of men that wouldn't stop short of completing their journey.

~To find crew for the Endurance, Shackleton reportedly placed an advertisement in The Times, reading: Men wanted for hazardous journey. Small wages, bitter cold, long months of complete darkness, constant danger, safe return doubtful. Honor and recognition in case of success.~

Safe return doubtful... not good odds but they all made it home miraculously. Sometimes we just need to identify a journey worth making to show the world what we are made out of. The human body is an incredible machine. Victor Frankle said, "Those who have a why to live, can bear with almost any how".

My brother-in-law David is a farrier in Mississippi. When I go visit my sister we get up early and go to the barn to take care of the animals. On this particular trip to the barn, he is walking around the barn as usual feeding the horses. I walked outside and noticed a tan horse tied to a tree. It had been there at least all night and I couldn't see much of it because of the fog. I notice him taking care of all of the animals and so does this horse. It starts pawing at the tree and roots and making a lot of noise. While I was outside David was getting the horse’s food ready and was starting to walk out to me. I asked him what’s up with the horse? He said that is a mule and I’m trying to teach it patience he has been acting up lately and I am trying to teach him how to wear a saddle. He can't be broken to begin training until he can wear a saddle and he can't do that until he learns patience. The image of the tree torn up, the breath frosting in the fog will never leave my mind.
Hitting rock bottom is a lot like that. The day you realize you are there you don’t have to be told, instinctively you know you are tied up to the tree and have no way out. The mule had a choice to be trained and be a prize mule or to ignore the opportunity. Life has a purging effect on people, if you do well you will be rewarded, and if you do not sin lieth at the door. I know what it feels like to be like my old friend “Ferris Muler” because I was once there. The second law of thermodynamics says that the natural order of things is to descend into chaos. If your life is in chaos you don’t need to panic. The system is not broken and you can make your way out. It is only natural for a person to be in a state of dysfunction. The thing the universe is asking of you today is what are you going to do about it? Do you dare to disrupt the natural order of things? God is not interested in just letting the world pass by without giving you an opportunity. Just like David had a plan for Mr. Ferris God is preparing a masterplan for us and wants to make a masterpiece out of you. It can start today by making the choice to enroll in our 12-week class to help you learn the life skills you need to begin your journey.
I asked David what will you do if Ferris Muler won't be trained? He said I will keep him around the farm and just put him out in the pasture.
One of my greatest fears is that I won't accomplish what I was put on this planet to accomplish. I have seen people dying that didn’t. They never say I wish I would have made more money or had more fun. They say I wish I would have made that relationship right with my kids or would have put more energy into my purpose. That doesn’t have to be your story. With God's help, I am reaching for you and want you to know God has a plan for each of us. Maybe you already know your purpose but if you don’t let's discover and achieve it together.
