Anxiety often isn’t the original problem but the cycle that keeps repeating. A trigger like a phone call, thought, or body sensation shows up, the brain tries to protect you by assuming danger, the body responds with anxiety symptoms, and you try to escape or fix the feeling as quickly as possible. Relief comes briefly, and then the brain learns that panicking must have helped, which keeps the cycle going. The goal isn’t to eliminate anxiety but to interrupt the loop by responding with awareness, tolerance, and support, because understanding the cycle is often the first step toward loosening its grip.
