Selma’s Ward 8 showed up at the Mobile Market, which made its first stop at East Selma Pond and Park and served over 50 community members!

Pastor John Goings and his wife, members of the East Selma Block Club, along with former Councilwoman Mrs. Wimberly, came out to shop. Mrs. Wimberly was among the first in line and stayed to share stories of when the park was a baseball field where Hank Aaron once played in the 1950s and 60s!

Days like this highlight the importance of staying connected to the communities we serve.

Our Mobile Market stopped by the Selma Dallas County Public Library on April 2, serving the residents of Ward 8! 🛒

We were glad to welcome 61 community members during the event, and even more excited to introduce our new Mobile Market driver, Council McReynolds, to the team!

Yesterday we had a special visit from Apu Patel with Novo Nordisk and Patrick Bond with The Interrupt. They joined us on-site with our Mobile Market and Mobile Wellness teams for one of our regular stops at Miles College.

We are so grateful for partners who take the time to show up, connect, and support the work happening in our communities.

We brought together over 15 faith-based and community leaders in Selma last week to connect and talk about supporting wellness across our communities 💛

It was a meaningful afternoon of conversation, collaboration, and even a little celebration as we recognized a team member’s birthday 🎉

We had a great time tabling at the Minds Matter Youth Wellness Fair in Demopolis! Families enjoyed free activities, food, and giveaways while connecting with local wellness programs.

During the event, our team shared information about MyPlate food groups and basic nutrition.

We filled 70 orders for community members who came out to shop our Mobile Market at the Selma Trinity Lutheran Church! 💚

A big thank you to City Councilwoman Ashley Ervin (Ward 6), who purchased 67 vouchers for her residents, sponsored a DJ, and provided water bottles for those in line, creating a welcoming, high-energy space for everyone.

We were also glad to have UAB CEAL on site sharing information, and to welcome a visit from the Selma Chief of Police.

A great start for Healthy Happy Kids in Demopolis 💚

More than 40 students from 3rd through 5th grade participated! We're excited to see everyone come together at the Theo Ratliff Center as this program gets underway. Looking forward to the impact ahead!

The Mobile Market is in Selma 📍

We set up outside Vaughan Hospital recently, giving community members a chance to shop fresh produce and everyday staples right where they are. We hope to see you at a stop soon!

We had so much fun celebrating Vocabby’s 10th birthday! 🎉

From songs and hands-on activities to families learning together, it was a great day supporting young learners. We also had the Mobile Market on site, helping connect families with fresh food while they enjoyed the celebration.

Two recent wellness events in Selma brought neighbors together to know their numbers!

Community members joined us at New Hope Apostolic Church and Love City Selma for no-cost wellness screenings, where participants were able to review their health metrics in just 15-minutes and receive helpful wellness resources.

We’re grateful to both organizations for hosting and helping connect us with community members who want to take a closer look at their health.
