Proud of our GoRescue EMS Academy graduate Branden Peebles with the Homewood Fire Department!
🚨Homewood Heroes Firefighter Friday!🚨
We’re back, and the next Homewood firefighter to be highlighted is Branden Peebles. 🚒🎉👨🏻🚒
Branden has been a firefighter for nine months and has served with Homewood for the past three months. His interest in the fire service comes from a desire to help others. “I have always been inspired by the act of helping others and find fulfillment in acts of services. Being able to provide services to the city of Homewood and its citizens is something I will always cherish,” he shares.
Outside of the station, Branden keeps busy staying active. He enjoys weightlifting and is a blue belt in Jiu-Jitsu. He loves to grapple and practice his skills whenever he gets the chance.
When it comes to firehouse meals, Branden’s top pick is provolone cheese bacon burgers with pepper jelly, of course served with a side of fries.
The most rewarding part of being a firefighter, for Branden, is being the person who can help others in their time of need. “Being the person that I would want to see walking through the door on my own family’s worst day is my motivation to be proficient and always ready for the moment,” he adds. “There are so many rewarding parts of this job; however, I believe that is it.”
For those considering a career in the fire service, Branden offers this advice: “Don’t wait — if you believe you have a calling to serve and protect — answer that call.” He emphasizes the importance of connecting with experienced firefighters. “Reach out to firefighters and don’t be afraid to ask questions. Oftentimes they are more willing to help guide than you might realize,” he says.
Serving the Homewood community is something Branden takes great pride in. “I am honored to be a part of this community,” he continues. “I am also grateful to be able to be at the front line to protect this beautiful community that supports Homewood Fire Department and its members.”
Branden’s heart for service and dedication to staying active and ready make him someone we’re happy to have on our crew. His passion for helping neighbors, both on and off the job, really shows what makes the Homewood community so special! 🧯🔥👏
