The National Wheelchair Basketball Association SEC Junior Division Championship returns to Lakeshore February 21–22! Come cheer on 22 Prep and Varsity youth wheelchair basketball teams from across the Southeast as they battle for the title of SEC Champs. More details and full schedule coming soon!

Coming together for change! Earlier this week, we hosted disability organizations, dental providers, public health partners and community leaders from across Alabama for the Disability & Oral Health Access Partner Convening.

This gathering marks the launch of a statewide initiative dedicated to identifying barriers to oral health care and building collaborative solutions for more inclusive, accessible and equitable dental care systems for people with disabilities. Thank you to all who joined us in this important conversation!

Cold weather makes indoor gardening more appealing than ever! We enjoyed another fantastic workshop with the help of Alabama Extension and Cawaco RC&D. Participants learned about different indoor gardening options and even took home some plants to put their new knowledge into practice!

Congratulations to both the Lakeshore Demolition and Lakeshore Lakers on a great weekend of competition throughout the Southeast!
The Demolition took 3rd in DI at the PVA Wheelchair Rugby Invitational, while the Lakers took 4th in the Varsity Division at the Borne to Play tournament.

The Lakeshore Demolition was back in action in Louisville today, facing both the WWAR Warriors and WWAR Generals in Day 2️⃣ of the PVA Wheelchair Rugby Invitational. While the Demolition wasn’t able to secure a W today, they’ll be back in action tomorrow against the Warriors to compete for 3rd place.

Meanwhile, the Lakers varsity wheelchair basketball team traveled to Jacksonville, FL for the Borne to Play Tournament. The Lakers will also compete for 3rd place tomorrow after a tough day of competition today. Good luck to all our athletes and coaches!

Let’s go, Lakeshore! The Lakeshore Demoliton are in Louisville, KY this weekend for the 9th annual Paralyzed Veterans of America Wheelchair Rugby Invitational. The Demolition had a solid first day of competition, securing a win against the TIRR Texans before falling to defending nationals champs WWAR Generals. Here’s to a strong Day 2️⃣ tomorrow!
