Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday.

Now more than ever, Alabama moms and babies need us. Our state has some of the nation’s highest maternal and infant mortality rates, and growing healthcare gaps put families at even greater risk.

BirthWell Partners helps change that. We train doulas and provide free and low-cost support—giving parents the guidance, advocacy, and encouragement they need for a safer, more confident birth. Your support helps us be their support: https://givebutter.com/BWP2025

Stay tuned tomorrow to hear directly from families who experienced the impact of doula support.

November is Prematurity Awareness Month, and Alabama’s March of Dimes 2025 Report Card shows we have work to do. Alabama is 1 of 8 states who received an "F" for maternal and infant health outcomes. This highlights the urgent need for support for families before, during, and after birth.

While doulas are not the solution, they can play a key role in lowering our alarming rates. Research shows that having doula support can lower the likelihood of preterm births and help families feel more prepared and supported.

“I think if I didn’t have her I never would have made it because I almost gave up during labor."

Hear from our client, Kayuna, about how much having her doula, Leshia, by her side meant to her. Stories like hers remind us exactly why doula support matters

Your support helps us be their support. This Giving Tuesday helps make stories like hers possible for more families. Make a difference today: https://givebutter.com/BWP2025

Because of the recent pause in SNAP (Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program) benefits, many of the 750,000 Alabamians who rely on this program have turned to food banks and meal programs for help. In light of this increased demand, The Caring Foundation has donated a generous contribution to United Way of Central Alabama specifically for SNAP benefit relief efforts.

During times of uncertainty, we are thankful for organizations like United Way of Central Alabama that support families in the Birmingham area.

If you are in central Alabama and are in need of assistance or want to support Community Food Bank of Central Alabama — a TCF and United Way partner — check out the graphic below for more information.
