What happened to that pregnant woman in the hospital…
isn’t an isolated incident.
It’s a pattern Black women know too well.
Being dismissed.
Being ignored.
Being told “you’re fine” while your body is screaming otherwise.
This is medical gaslighting — and it doesn’t just harm our bodies,
it harms our minds.
The fear.
The mistrust.
The anxiety that comes every time we walk into a healthcare setting.
It’s generational. And it’s heavy.
As a therapist, I see the aftermath every day:
Black women trying to heal from systems that were never built with us in mind.
Trying to advocate for themselves while also fighting to survive.

Your story matters.
And your voice deserves to be heard in every room, every appointment, every decision.
