On this day, 16 years ago, Lazy Circles Equine and Canine Massage was born! πŸŽ‰ I went to Round Hill, VA with no idea what I was getting myself into, and left that magical place a certified Equine and Canine Massage practitioner. πŸΆπŸ΄πŸ€— It was hard work; lots of studying, working, testing, and lots of passing out asleep at the end of very long days. It was worth every minute of it, and here I am, 16 years later. πŸ₯° Thank you to all the incredible people who've believed in and supported me and this work along the way. I'm thankful for and humbled by all my clients' trust in me to help their animal friends. Above all, I'm grateful for Mary Schreiber and her knowledge, teachings, advice, and all the encouragement she's given me since I arrived on day 1. ❀️ Congratulations to me and I'm proud to say happy 16th anniversary, Lazy Circles!

Lazy Circles is the perfect complement to regular veterinary care. ✨️ In case of emergency, look into your options for emergency treatment in Birmingham. Meet Merlin! 🀩 He had his first Lazy Circles session last week! πŸ€— Merlin's recovering from a torn meniscus and removal of a cyst. What a dramatic photo of him out cold, on his back, during surgery, eh? He's been recovering well, and therapeutic massage is the perfect compliment to his veterinary care. His caring and dedicated Mom Nichole Lariscy Moore was right to get him booked in. 😊 Slowly but surely, Merlin the Great Grey Westfalen will get back up to speed! 🐴🩢

I'd like to tell you about a little dog named Abby Rose and her mom, Jill Layne. Please take a minute to read their story. πŸ’• Just look at these photos–excuse me, talk about a cutie! I worked with her just over 3Β½ years. Little Abby left us last week. Abby had had successful surgery for a ruptured cranial cruciate ligament (CCL), and studies show that when a dog has this condition in one hind leg, there's about a 50% chance that it will develop in the other. It can be debilitating, terribly painful, and wreck a dog's quality of life.

Toward the end of 2021, Jill contacted me to see if and how I could help her little girl. I let her know about my considerable experience with CCL injuries, and of course offered references. Without hesitation, she booked Abby's first Lazy Circles session.

For just over 3Β½ years my job for Abby and Jill was to do my best to prevent that second CCL from being injured, to keep her musculoskeletal system in balance, and to minimize any inflammation and discomfort. The three of us sat in their living room every other week while Abby had her bodywork, and Jill and I would talk and laugh the whole hour.

Jill is such a special person, and I'm so grateful to her for trusting me with Abby's care. She's always been committed to keeping up regularly scheduled sessions with me. When each one was over, she'd say, "Now let's look at our calendars and see when her next one is," and we'd get Abby booked again on the spot. Believe me, someone with that level of dedication is my dream client, because that consistency is how we get the good work done.

I'm so very sad that Abby left us last week. You have to understand that after 3Β½ years, a dog lives deep in my heart and her family means a lot to me. I'm going to miss being greeted at the door by Abby and her wagging tail, bright eyes, and huge helping of sass. Such a beautiful girl, smart, funny, and yes, so headstrong; she was a lot of dog for such a little body! I'm going to miss those visits with Jill, and my heart hurts for her. But hopefully we can have a visit here and there to talk and laugh again.

Jill, thank you so much for your loving care of sweet Abby Rose, for your unwavering belief in and support of Lazy Circles, and for all the hugs. We did it. Good Girl, Abby. ❀️
