Most people look at before-and-after photos and focus on what changed. I look at what didn’t.

49-year-old woman.
6 months after brow lift, upper lid blepharoplasty, fractional CO2 laser resurfacing, and a subtle liquid rhinoplasty.

No makeup in either photo. Standardized positioning as closely as possible. The after is slightly overexposed, but the details still speak.

Notice her brow position. It isn’t dramatically higher. That’s intentional.

She never had highly arched brows, and she didn’t want them. Modern brow rejuvenation isn’t about lifting everything upward. It’s about restoring support to the midface, relieving compensatory forehead tension, and softening upper lid redundancy, especially medially and laterally.

She looks more relaxed. More open. More approachable. That’s the goal.

The upper lids show the nuance. Excess skin was removed. Herniated fat was repositioned for smoother contour. Tarsal plate show and symmetry improved. Brow fat pad support restored. These are small decisions that create a natural eye.

Her skin quality is another quiet shift. Fractionally ablative CO2 remains the gold standard for tone, texture, pigment, pore size, and fine lines. I especially love what it does for lower lid crepiness.

A note on scars. Her hair is pulled back. No makeup. You can’t see the temporal brow access incision. That’s by design. There is a faint pink line near the tail of the upper lid. At 6 months, that’s normal. Some scars fade quickly. Others take closer to a year. Sun protection, silicone gel, and time matter. If needed, vascular lasers can help.

Finally, the most subtle change. A firmer hyaluronic acid filler was used to refine the nasal profile. Slightly more lift and definition to the tip. Nothing dramatic. Just better harmony.

This is what modern facial rejuvenation should look like.
Subtle. Noticeable. Quietly transformative.

If you’re studying before and afters, look beyond how high something sits. Look at how someone feels in their face.

3 Months Post-Op: Rhinoplasty

Healing is well underway, though refinement continues. At this stage, residual swelling, particularly along the tip and supratip, is still present and will gradually improve over the coming months.

This young patient of Middle Eastern background traveled from Arkansas seeking a softer, more feminine profile while preserving the character and identity of her nose. Our approach focused on balance and subtle structural refinement: smoothing a dorsal hump, refining supratip fullness, elevating a ptotic tip, correcting nostril retraction, and sculpting a bulbous, under-defined tip.

From a technical perspective, this case required a precise structural strategy. Using a small incision along the columella, we performed an open rhinoplasty to allow meticulous cartilage reshaping. Her own cartilage created a stable, long-lasting foundation, while a delicate layer of temporalis fascia added a soft, seamless cushion over the dorsum, ideal for patients with thick skin seeking a smooth, graceful contour.

Functionally, her breathing was also improved by addressing the internal valves with spreader grafts and optimizing lower cartilage positioning to enhance airflow.

While still early in the healing process, the foundational changes are already evident. Continued refinement over the next several months will further reveal the final result.

Proper medical clearance and optimization are essential parts of the surgical journey, and at Raggio MD, this process begins long before you arrive in the operating room. Before any facelift, neck lift, rhinoplasty, or other surgical procedure, our goal is to make sure patients are not only eligible for surgery but truly optimized for the safest and smoothest outcome possible.

We are proud to have Nurse Practitioner Lundy leading our in-house medical optimization program. With her expertise, we streamline pre-operative evaluations, address risk factors like blood pressure and ni****ne usage, and ensure any underlying health concerns are identified and managed before surgery.

Surgical safety isn’t just about operating, it’s about preparing your body and mind so that you heal more predictably and comfortably. When health is optimized ahead of time, complications are less likely, recovery can be smoother, and you have greater confidence on surgery day.

We are grateful to our patients for trusting us with every step of their journey, from preparation to healing and beyond.

2 Months Post-Operative: Preservation Extended Deep Plane Facelift, Neck Lift, Full-Face Fat Grafting, and Full-Face CO₂ Laser Resurfacing.

This patient initially came to us seeking a neck lift, most concerned about her neck and lower face contour. After a comprehensive evaluation, we determined that a full facial rejuvenation approach would best to achieve her goals in a natural manner. Together, we developed a plan that addressed lifting, volume restoration, and skin quality.

We are grateful for her willingness to share her neck-down results. Her openness allows others to better understand the process and the importance of thoughtful, individualized surgical planning.

A facelift addresses foundational lifting, but optimizing a result often involves more than one procedure.

In select patients, complementary treatments such as fat grafting, buccal fat removal, and earlobe reduction/repair can further refine balance and proportion. Fat grafting replenishes volume to maintain softness and natural facial harmony.
Buccal fat removal, when carefully indicated, can enhance lower face contour. Earlobes may elongate with age and can be subtly restored.

Thoughtful surgical planning means looking at the face as a whole, not just one area. By addressing the details, we are able to deliver results that feel complete, balanced, and naturally refreshed.

4 Months Post-Op: Brow Lift, Upper Blepharoplasty, and Full Face CO₂ Laser.

A refined, refreshed result achieved by elevating the brow, removing excess upper eyelid skin, and improving overall skin texture and tone. By combining structural enhancement with resurfacing, we are able to restore brightness to the upper face while maintaining natural expression.

We are thankful for this patient and her willingness in allowing us to share her journey!

2 Months Post-Op: Primary Rhinoplasty

This patient is healing beautifully. However, following all pre-op and post-op instructions plays a major role in how smoothly and comfortably recovery progresses. Small details in the first week can make a meaningful difference in long-term results.

We are thankful for this lovely patient and her willingness to share her journey. At Raggio MD, every detail matters, and every journey is personal. If you’re exploring rhinoplasty, we invite you to experience a level of care where precision and privacy come standard. Text or call our office to book your consultation today! 659-272-0092.

This video follows our patient’s recovery at 24 hours, 3 days, 1 week, 1 month, and 2 months post-operative.

This lovely patient underwent a preservation extended deep-plane facelift, neck lift, brow lift, upper and lower blepharoplasty, fat grafting, and full-face CO₂ laser resurfacing.

We believe it is important to show what recovery truly looks like, not only the final result. Swelling, bruising, and healing are all part of the process, and understanding that timeline helps set realistic expectations.

We are deeply grateful for this patient’s vulnerability and her willingness to share her journey so early on. Her openness provides clarity for future patients and helps others feel informed, prepared, and confident as they consider their own rejuvenation journey.

Most noses don’t heal on the same timeline.

This patient had thicker skin, a larger dorsal hump, and one very clear request.
She wanted natural. Feminine. But nothing swoopy or overdone. When those factors come together, the goal isn’t speed. It’s restraint and patience. We discussed preoperatively that her healing would be a long process. Thick skin takes time. Structural changes take time.

The technical details of the surgery were only one component.
Consistent skin care.
Help from dermatology (Accutane Rx).
Nightly taping.
And a few carefully placed steroid injections along the way.

She understood the process and trusted it. That makes a difference. The alar base reduction was the final detail. Subtle, but it helped the nose feel smaller and more balanced with her features. As a bonus, her breathing is better. Septoplasty and turbinate reduction often matter more in the long term than patients expect, especially for heart, lung, and brain health.

She had complete confidence prior to surgery, but now she radiates it.

When rhinoplasty is performed young and thoughtfully, patients benefit both aesthetically and functionally for decades. That’s worth thinking about early.

1 Year Post-Op: Preservation Extended Deep-Plane Facelift, Neck Lift, Upper Blepharoplasty, Fat Grafting, and CO₂ Laser Resurfacing.

Facial rejuvenation does not need to be dramatic to be effective. The most successful outcomes are often subtle results that look natural and prompt others to simply pause and wonder, "you look incredible, but what did you do?"

This patient already had beautiful features. She just wanted to achieve a refreshed look. This is really what facial rejuvenation is all about.

02/06/2026

A “mini facelift” can be appealing because it’s often less expensive, faster to perform, and has less downtime. But it’s important to understand what it is… and what it isn’t.

In most cases, a mini lift is limited to superficial tightening. It does not fully address the deeper structural aging of the face and neck, where the most meaningful, lasting rejuvenation occurs. When my patients choose surgery, I want them to do it once and do it well. That means thoughtfully lifting deeper tissues, refining the neck, restoring volume where it’s been lost, and addressing the full architecture of aging.

True rejuvenation comes from a more deliberate approach. One rooted in meticulous planning. Purposeful ex*****on. Thoughtful care. The end result: Timeless Beauty.
