We were so excited to welcome back Katie Blake ( .with.kb ) — a 2022 graduate of our Body Logic Cosmetology Program — who came to speak with our current students this week! 💇‍♀️

Katie now works as a professional stylist at Evolve Beauty Co. ( .beautyco ) in Chelsea, Alabama, where she specializes in hand-tied extensions, color, and marketing herself as a beauty brand.

During her visit, she shared valuable insights on:

After decades of exclusion, the professional beauty industry finally has the tax fairness it’s fought for. 🎉

For the first time ever, salon, spa and barbershop owners will receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit on employer-paid F**A taxes for employee tips—the same credit restaurant owners have received since 1993.

This historic win corrects a long-standing tax inequity and marks a major victory for more than 1.3 million beauty professionals across the country.

🧾 Passed as part of the federal reconciliation package, the legislation also includes a No Tax on Tips deduction for workers—ushering in a new era for small business owners and service providers.
