Winter Tiny Talkers was snow much fun! ❄️ Our group had a blast learning about different winter themes each week while growing their expressive & receptive language, play & social skills, and following a routine! Here’s a recap:

We are thrilled to announce that an occupational therapist has joined our team!! Courtney comes to us with 10 years of occupational therapy experience. She obtained her Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Grand Valley State University. She is a member of AOTA and NBCOT certified. She has worked with clients of all ages in a variety of settings: including schools, hospitals and outpatient therapy facilities. She has a passion for working with pediatric clients, and has specialized training in sensory integration, autism, DIR/floortime model, neurodevelopmental techniques (NDT), and handwriting without tears. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
In her free time, Courtney enjoys spending time with her family and two sons, Charlie (9) and James (6). Traveling, music, theater, volunteer work, physical fitness, photography, and cooking/baking are things she partakes in as well! And that’s a wrap! We read “Dear Zoo” at our last fall Tiny Talkers class and learned all about categorizing and describing animals! We even made our own fierce lion masks 🦁

Tiny Talkers week two! The theme was BALL day, and kids worked on learning how to make requests! It is so important for our littles to be able to express their wants and needs to us.

Marika Gaul is a skilled, enthusiastic pediatric speech-language pathologist who started her career in early intervention in NYC, tailoring treatment plans to children with a variety of special needs. After two years, she got her certification as a behavioral technician and started a speech program for an ABA clinic. Currently Marika is a specialist at a pediatric clinic at DMC rehab institute of MI, where she works with children with autism, cerebral palsy, TBI, apraxia, phonological disorders, and language delays.
On Fridays (and some weekends😉), you can find her at Birmingham Speech and Language, working with our kiddos! Thanks for all you do, Marika! ✨

Our popular Tiny Talkers class is back again this summer! It will be held on Tuesday mornings- June 13 through July 25 (excluding July 4). We are offering two session times- 9am or 10am. The class is for 2-3 year olds, and includes social skills, songs, expressive and receptive language, and more! Taking place again at the First United Methodist Church- 1589 West Maple Road, Birmingham. Tell your friends and sign up together!☺️☺️
One adult per child is required to stay and participate. Our speech-language pathologists will also give tips to the adults each week- for example, how to stimulate and foster language development at home. Email or call to register!
