We’re thrilled to announce that our Vice President of Behavior Support, Dr. Erich Grommet, has been elected President-Elect of the Alabama Association for Behavior Analysis(ALABA)! 🎉

ALABA works to promote ethical, effective, and humane behavior-analytic practices across Alabama—supporting professionals in education, rehabilitation, developmental disabilities, and beyond. In this statewide leadership role, Erich will serve on the Executive Committee from 2026–2028, helping shape the future of behavior analysis in Alabama. He will champion professional development, elevate best practices, and advance high-quality behavioral services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Since joining The Arc in 2023, Erich has been a driving force behind the growth of our Behavior Support Department—strengthening clinical training and building innovative, person-centered services. His selection for this role reflects both his expertise and the impact of The Arc’s expanding work across our state.

We are proud to have him representing The Arc and advancing the field of behavior analysis statewide.

Earlier this year, Dallas sat down with the Alabama ABLE Savings Plan to talk about how this program helps individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities save for the future without risking their benefits.

Dallas has been a vital part of our accounting team for the past six years, bringing passion, dedication, and heart to everything he does. He plays a key role in supporting the financial needs of the people we serve — and truly embodies what it means to be part of The Arc family.

Congratulations to Dallas Vice! Dallas has been honored with The Arc of the U.S.’s NCE Rising Star Award! 🎉

These awards honor individuals who exemplify professional excellence and make meaningful contributions to the intellectual and developmental disability (IDD) community. The Rising Star Award celebrates emerging leaders in their first five years of senior leadership within The Arc’s chapter network who are already making a profound impact.

As the Financial Controller at The Arc of Central Alabama, Dallas oversees all accounting operations, leads key financial and business strategies, and ensures accurate, timely reporting for the organization. Since joining The Arc in 2020, he has advanced through several leadership roles and now oversees six HUD entities and representative payee services for more than 200 individuals — directly supporting The Arc’s mission of person-centered support with excellence and integrity.

In 2022, Dallas was recognized by the Birmingham Business Journal as a NextGen: Money honoree, which highlighted up-and-coming financial leaders shaping Birmingham’s business community. He has also partnered with the Alabama ABLE Savings Plan, helping raise awareness about tools that promote long-term financial security for people with disabilities and their families.

We had a beautiful day celebrating the life of Grace Christian with our Garden Party. Her mother, Mary, has been an integral part of our facility day program, sharing her knowledge through lessons on seed planting and plant health. We are so grateful for her! 💐

🌟 Employment Spotlight: Meet Cephus! 🌟

Cephus has been employed with Engineered Plastic Components for the past three years, where he continues to demonstrate dedication, reliability, and a strong work ethic. His positive attitude and commitment have made him a valued member of the team.

Cephus began his employment journey through The Arc’s Employment Support program, where he worked closely with his Employment Specialist. With her guidance, he explored his interests, identified his strengths, and found meaningful work that aligned with his skills and goals. Today, Cephus takes great pride in his job and continues to thrive!
