We are honored to serve alongside Dr. Constance Smith Hendricks. As Vice President of the Alabama Nurses Foundation and a nurse of 52 years, Dr. Hendricks embodies what it means to lead with vision and persistence.

Her impact is not measured only in titles. It lives in the programs she built, the students she mentored, the communities she served, and the nursing history she preserved so it would not disappear.

From Selma to classrooms, clinics, and boardrooms across Alabama, she has expanded what nursing can reach.

During Black History Month, we are proud to highlight her story as part of The Unseen Shifts (and proud to call her one of our own)!

Members of Birmingham Black Nurses Association Inc., including immediate past President Pat Curry, Susie Bonner, and Pat Lyons, attended the West Alabama Black Nurses Association - WABNA Scholarship Soirée this past weekend.

BBNA was recognized as a Gold Sponsor for this event. Under the leadership of Dr. Betty Key, the WABNA presented several students with nursing scholarships to assist with their education. It was a great and worthwhile event.
