The Birmingham Black Nurses Association Inc. extends its deepest gratitude to the Phi Iota Omega Chapter, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. for recognizing our organization as a 2025 Phi Iota Omega Chapter Community Outreach recipient.

BBNA has been awarded $500 to further our community initiatives in Birmingham and nearby communities.

Happy Founders’ Day to the National Black Nurses Association, Inc. 🎉🎉

On December 18, 2025, we honor the visionary leaders who established the National Black Nurses Association in 1971 and paved the way for generations of Black nurses across the nation.

This year’s theme, “Honoring Our Legacy, Igniting Our Future,” reminds us that our history fuels our progress, our purpose, and our power.

Let’s come together as a community to reflect, celebrate, and continue the legacy of excellence in nursing leadership, advocacy, and service.
