🌍 World Braille Day (…yes, we’re a day late 😅)
But hey—it’s never too late to learn about Braille. Accessibility doesn’t expire.
What is Braille?
Braille is a tactile reading and writing system made up of raised dots that are read with the fingertips. It allows people who are blind or visually impaired to read, write, learn, and navigate the world independently.
Who uses Braille?
Braille is used by individuals who are blind or have low vision—children learning to read, adults pursuing education or careers, and seniors experiencing vision loss. For many, Braille is key to literacy, independence, and confidence.
How can you learn Braille or support people who use it?
• Learn the basics through online courses, libraries, or local vision-support organizations
• Advocate for Braille signage in public spaces, elevators, and healthcare settings
• Support organizations that provide Braille education and accessible materials
• Practice patience and inclusion—small accommodations make a big difference
A day late, but still right on time to celebrate access, literacy, and inclusion. 🤍
