💪🏾👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family Fitness Time!

There’s nothing better than getting active together! When families exercise as a team, they’re not just building stronger bodies—they’re building stronger bonds. ❤️

Whether it’s a walk on the track, a family workout class, shooting hoops, or just playing together in the gym, every moment of movement counts.

At the YMCA, we love seeing families encourage each other, laugh together, and create healthy habits that last a lifetime.
Bring the whole family and let’s stay active together!

🏌🏾‍♂️💙 Building Character On and Off the Course! 💙🏌🏾‍♀️

The Northeast Community YMCA is proud to partner with First Tee to help shape the next generation of leaders through the game of golf!

Through this partnership, youth in our community are learning more than just swings and putts — they’re developing confidence, integrity, perseverance, and respect. ⛳✨

At the Y, we believe in strengthening spirit, mind, and body. First Tee brings that mission to life by combining character education with the lifelong sport of golf. Together, we’re creating opportunities, building relationships, and empowering young people to succeed on and off the course.

🌟 Registration is now open!
📍 Open to youth of all skill levels
🤝 Scholarships available

Let’s tee up a brighter future — together!

Did you know that Black History Month originated at the Wabash Avenue YMCA on the Southside of Chicago? In 1915, at the Wabash Avenue YMCA in Chicago, Carter Woodson organized the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History, which researched and celebrated the achievements of Black Americans. This led to his starting Negro History Week, the precursor to Black History Month.

On Friday, Feb 27th we joined our colleagues in Birmingham and across the country for We Wear Black. Why do we wear black? We wear black to honor the struggle of those who came before us. We wear black in solidarity with those who work daily to fight injustice, prejudice, and inequity. We wear black to do our part to ensure those who come after us have greater opportunity to thrive. YMCAs across the country wore black on February 27th to help us continue fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for all.

Greetings,

During Black History Month, the YMCA proudly honors the rich history, culture, and contributions of African Americans in our community and across the nation. As a mission-driven organization committed to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, the YMCA recognizes that celebrating Black history is not only about reflecting on the past — it’s about uplifting voices, strengthening equity, and building a more inclusive future. Black History Month aligns with the YMCA’s core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility, reminding us that strong communities are built when every story is valued.

The chair aerobics class at the Northeast Community YMCA represented and showed support for Black History Month by wearing Kinte cloth, black history month shirts, HBCU (Historically Black College & University and Divine 9 Fraternity and Sorority paraphernalia. Please see the attachments below. Thank you for your support of the Northeast Community YMCA.
