Greetings,
During Black History Month, the YMCA proudly honors the rich history, culture, and contributions of African Americans in our community and across the nation. As a mission-driven organization committed to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, the YMCA recognizes that celebrating Black history is not only about reflecting on the past — it’s about uplifting voices, strengthening equity, and building a more inclusive future. Black History Month aligns with the YMCA’s core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility, reminding us that strong communities are built when every story is valued.
The chair aerobics class at the Northeast Community YMCA represented and showed support for Black History Month by wearing Kinte cloth, black history month shirts, HBCU (Historically Black College & University and Divine 9 Fraternity and Sorority paraphernalia. Please see the attachments below. Thank you for your support of the Northeast Community YMCA.
