Partner Tuesday 🧡
Transition: The Storm Before the Calm
If labor has a breaking point, this is it.
Transition is intense; it’s fast, it’s raw- it’s often the moment she needs you most.

You might see:
⚠️ Shaking, chills, or nausea
⚠️ Panic or overwhelm
⚠️ “I can’t do this anymore” (she can—and is, but it doesn't feel like it to her)
⚠️ Wanting space—or clinging to you like a lifeline
This is where you don’t fix.

You anchor.
🧡 Keep your voice steady, even if hers isn’t
🧡 Stay close- hand on her back, breath in sync
🧡 Remind her: “You’re doing it.” “This is the hardest part.”
🧡 Don’t take her words personally—transition is where the filter goes out the window.

In this image, she's riding that wave. And he’s there—solid, quiet, present.

That kind of calm doesn’t go unnoticed. It gets remembered.
In this moment—just like the one in this photo—she’s doing the hardest work of her life.

And your job? To hold steady.

Happy Fall! I am hosting another "Comfort measures and labor positions class" on Sunday October 12th from 1-5pm.

This class will teach you all the ways to cope with the intensity of labor, and practice different positions you can use during your birthing time and pushing stage. This is a great option if you have are having a baby SOON and need a crash course on how to get through labor without the use of medication. Or maybe you have taken a full childbirth ed class in the past and just need a quick afternoon refresher course.

Class will be in a group format with other expecting families. Light refreshments will be provided during class, but feel free to bring your own meal or snacks if desired. Class will be relaxed and open for lots of discussion and questions. I want you to feel confident going into your birthing journey!

Class registration fee includes pregnant person and one support person.

Can you believe we are one week and one day out for the Meadowlark Birth Families Reunion picnic!? If you have not already RSVP'd, please email, text, or shoot me a message with how many eaters are in your group so I can plan accordingly!

☀️I am hosting a Meadowlark Birth families picnic! I work with families for a relatively short period of time in their lives, but still think of them often and would love to reconnect and visit. And of course to see your littles and how much they have grown since I saw them last! This is also a nice opportunity to connect with other like-minded families in our community.

👋Who is invited? Anyone who has worked with me as a doula client or taken a class from me! Also, I am inviting anyone who is interested in working with me to come chat in person and connect with other families who who have worked with me in the past! Birthworkers from the community are welcome to come join in the fun as well!
