⭐️ Lateral Ankle Sprains
When you sprain your ankle, it’s not just the ligaments that take a hit. You can also lose:
▪️Strength
▪️Balance & proprioception (your body’s awareness in space)
▪️Stability with cutting, jumping, and landing
▪️Confidence!!
And if these aren’t addressed properly, you’re at a much higher risk for reinjury and chronic an instability.
So where does Physical Therapy come in?
PT goes beyond rest and ice—we help you fully return to sport by focusing on:
⭐️Restoring range of motion
⭐️Rebuilding strength (especially the stabilizers)
⭐️Improving balance and coordination
⭐️Sport-specific drills (cutting, sprinting, jumping)
⭐️Safe, progressive return-to-play planning
The goal isn’t just to heal the ankle-it’s to reduce reinjury risk and return the athlete stronger and more prepared than before.
If you’ve had a recent ankle sprain—or even a “lingering” one-don’t ignore it. Your future performance depends on how well you rehab it now.
