Clients have been diligently working on what they have affectionately named their “sanctuary of stones.” Outside 101 E Broadway, you will find a growing display of hand-painted rocks featuring motivational sayings and artwork. This simple art project adds a touch of brightness and is meant to bring a smile to anyone who passes by.

The Great American Smokeout is coming up on Thursday, Nov. 20. This national event encourages people to take the first step toward a tobacco-free life by setting a quit date or making Nov. 20 the day they quit, even if just for 24 hours. Make your plan to quit and take the first step toward better health. Support is available through NDQuits.

If you have been homeless in the past or are currently experiencing homelessness, please join the Human Relations Forum next week to share your input.

The Human Relations Committee will be hosting a Community Conversation Forum from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on November 18 in the Tom Baker Room, in the lower level of the City/County Building (221 N. 5th Street). The free public event is designed to facilitate conversations around the challenges faced by individuals in Bismarck who have been unhoused or are currently experiencing homelessness. The format of the program will include a panel discussion, followed by an opportunity for public input.

We have an updated schedule for the H.E.A.R.T. Family education and support program. Anyone with a family member or loved one with a substance use is welcome to join us, registration is not required. The program consists of an hour of an educational piece, followed by an hour of a support group.

Meet two of our recovery coaches and Bismarck’s therapy dog, Benelli! Our recovery coaches meet with clients in the OTP and walk-in evaluation clinic to support every step of their recovery journey. They use their own life experience to show that recovery is possible.
