📱🚫 New Oklahoma Law Alert – Effective November 1, 2025

Starting this November, it will be illegal to hold or use a handheld cell phone while driving in active school or construction zones.
Hands-free devices like Bluetooth or voice commands are still permitted, but drivers must not physically handle their phones.

🚨 Emergency 911 calls are exempt

Time to be thinking about safety for Friday when trick or treaters may be out and about. When driving, keep your eyes out for people walking and biking. When walking, wear light colored clothing or add stripes of reflective material to shoes and jackets. Be safe and have a great time this Halloween!

Due to the ongoing government shutdown, many families in our community are experiencing interruptions in SNAP (food assistance) benefits.
Our phones have been ringing non-stop today with more neighbors turning to the BOC for support. We need to be ready for them. If you can help, our most needed items are listed below. Also, monetary donations are helpful as we can get more bang for the buck when we order in bulk!
Please consider hosting a food drive in your workplace, or neighborhood. Food pantries need everyone’s help right now to serve those who need it most!
