UPDATE:
As of right now, it appears we will not be able to move forward with the Good Shepherd location due to concerns about long-term stability in the lease. We care deeply about this community, and signing an agreement that does not provide the stability families and staff need would not be in the best interest of the children we serve.
Because the center has already been closed, reopening requires families to make another major transition and staff to commit to starting fresh. Many families have already found alternative care, and many teachers have moved on. Without clear long-term stability, it would be difficult to rebuild trust and provide the consistency children deserve.
If Good Shepherd’s position changes, we will absolutely share an update right away.
We are truly sorry that we were not able to meet the need in Seymour at this time. We know how much this center means to families, and this was not an easy decision. We remain committed to supporting families however we can, including helping where possible through our Appleton and Black Creek location.
Thank you so much for believing in us, for your encouragement, and for trusting us to put families first even when that means making a hard call. We sincerely hope Good Shepherd is able to find a provider who can keep childcare in the building, and if there is anything we can do to help families during this transition, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
