Another amazing event to kick off my weekend in Asheville. This time I came into town to celebrate Holi! 🌈

Hosted by the incredible teams at and . Banks Ave turns into the most joyful block party: music blasting, amazing Indian street food, dancing in the streets, and clouds of bright powder flying everywhere while everyone shouts “Holi Hai!”

Holi is the Hindu festival of colors celebrating the end times winter and arrival of spring, joy, and new beginnings. The colored powder symbolizes love, happiness, and the idea that we’re all equal when we’re covered in color and honestly there’s nothing quite like looking up and seeing friends and neighbors having the best time.

As an optician I spend my days helping people see the world clearly but events like this remind me how vibrant and colorful our community really is. Something we need in today’s world. Asheville has such a beautiful way of bringing people together through food, culture, and celebration, and this festival is one of the best examples of that.

Already counting down to next year… Holi Hai! 🌸✨

“Life is a Carnival” — and Asheville absolutely understood the assignment. 🎪💜💛💚

Almost forgot to post these but couldn’t not since it’s one of my favorite days of the year! Giant handmade heads, bold costumes, brass bands, beads flying, chaos in the best way!

It’s playful. It’s artistic. It’s pure community.

And as someone who lives in a world of color, personality, and statement pieces, this kind of fearless self-expression fuels me. It’s the same energy I love bringing into the boutique, fun, dramatic, a little over-the-top, and completely unapologetic.

A yearly reminder that style should be joyful… and life really is a carnival. ✨

✨ Designer Spotlight: Francis Klein ✨

This week I’m highlighting one of my favorite collections in my boutique, Francis Klein. Handmade in Paris, each frame feels like a tiny piece of couture for your face. Think unexpected color combinations, hand-applied crystals, and sculptural shapes.

St. Pete has been so fun! 🤍

Started the day with lunch at (downtown Turkish/ Kurdish gem that’s fully vegan + gluten-free + incredible), then headed straight into today’s trunk show hosted inside the most spectacular condo at the ONE. Amazing food, beautiful frames, the best conversations — truly one of those pinch-me days.

And because more of my inventory just arrived 👀✨

Eyewear Try-On + Styling Happy Hour!

Exciting news! I’ll be in St. Pete next week and I thought why not bring along some of my fave new frames?

I’ll be hosting two back-to-back trunk shows. The timing is perfect 4–6 PM, that ideal window after work and before dinner, the ultimate eyewear happy hour!

I’m bringing a ton of curated frames I’ve personally hand-picked: both clear and sunglass frames that I’ve been loving lately in my optical boutique.

It’s meant to be fun. Come try everything on, bring a friend, catch up, and enjoy your evening!

I’m closing out 2025 with a heart full of gratitude 🤍
These photos capture a mix of holiday moments and a few highlights from my year.

2025 was filled with time with friends and family, meaningful work, gardening, lots of Black Mountain love, and also deep loss. It was a year of holding space for both joy and grief, with ups and downs and so many memories along the way. Through it all, I’m incredibly grateful — for the people in these photos, the connections made, and the clients and friends, both new and old, who continue to support me.

Heading into 2026 feeling thankful, hopeful, and genuinely excited for what’s ahead ✨

About Kim

I have been a dispensing optician since 1986. Throughout this time I have worked in large Opthomology practices, chain stores, and Independent Optical shops. For the past 20 years I’ve been working in high-end, high-quality optical with independent frame manufacturers from France, Denmark, Germany, Belgium, Italy, and Japan. These manufacturers create works of art for your face.

In March of 2019, I decided to open a boutique optical shop. The time had come to build something for myself and the amazing clients with whom I have been working for many years. It’s been very exciting to create this unique offering, keeping with small independent manufacturers who produce a high-quality product and are affordable for my clients. I have discovered some fabulous designers from Europe and also found great companies that are in the USA.

The prospect of reconnecting with previous clients and meeting new ones excites me. Come in with your prescription and we’ll make you an excellent pair of glasses that highlights your personal expression. Call for an appointment and come see some exciting new unique and high-quality products at affordable prices.

If you have trouble getting to me, I will come to you. A modest fee would be charged for single sales but if you purchase two or more pairs, there will be no fee. Gather your friends together and we’ll make a party of it.
