🎨 Now Showing at Woodland Studios: “Memories from Our Farm” by Martha Dillard
Our current art exhibit at Woodland Studios located in the Village Center features a beautiful collection of acrylic paintings by local artist Martha Dillard, inspired by her years living on a farm in nearby Craig County.
After graduating from Virginia Tech’s art department in 1977, Martha explored abstract landscapes and mixed media. In 1988, she and her husband moved to a farm in Craig County, where they spent 26 years surrounded by breathtaking sunsets, mountain views, birdsong, and cattle grazing nearby. These smaller acrylic paintings were created to preserve the memories of that special place.
In 2014, Martha discovered barn quilts and began a new artistic journey—eventually painting more than 300 barn quilts and establishing a Barn Quilt Trail in Craig County, including a mini trail on bird boxes and fence posts around her farm.
We love showcasing artwork like this and appreciate artists who share their creativity and stories with our community. ❤️
✨ Residents and visitors are encouraged to stop by the Village Center to experience this exhibit before it comes down at the end of April. It’s a wonderful tribute to the beauty and spirit of the New River Valley.
