Got leaves? The first Yard Waste Free Day of the fall season will be this Saturday, Oct. 24, at Chamness Technology, 26107 530th Ave. Three additional free Saturdays are scheduled on Nov. 7 (includes brush), Nov. 21, and Dec. 5. Hours are from 8 am to 4 pm for each of the free days. To get to the site, travel south on University Boulevard and continue along the gravel road for almost two miles.
The yard waste site is located on the west side of the road. (University Boulevard becomes 530th Street.) A portion of University Boulevard is currently within a construction zone, and only one-way southbound access will be allowed through this section on the first three Yard Waste Free Days. To improve safety and reduce traffic congestion, returning traffic will be detoured back to Airport Road via South Riverside Drive.
