As we move into fall, I always ask clients this question:
Is your body holding the charge through autumn/winter?
During summer, it's easy — long days, sun exposure, barefoot grounding, lake/ocean time, and fresh foods all recharge your body + nervous system. But when the days shorten and we lose extra light, many start to lose that "charge."
Kids often show it first — more meltdowns, restless sleep, emotional ups and downs, fatigue, or blood sugar imbalances.
Minerals shift seasonally too. Lower sunlight means lower Vitamin D, which changes calcium and magnesium balance, and the nervous system starts working harder to self-regulate.
So before labeling fall behavior changes as "just a phase", ask:
Am I supporting our light hygiene?
Am I supporting our light hygiene as a family unit?
Are we nourishing minerals daily?
Are we keeping rhythms that recharge instead of drain?
The seasons change but the body's foundation can stay steady.
