Here are a few Do's and Don't when beginning chiro care:

DO expect change, but it usually takes time!
DON'T expect us to erase symptoms in an instant, especially after years of neglect.

DO take our at-home recommendations seriously. We are trying to give you free, at-home tools to complement the adjustments.
DON'T keep doing the same ol' things and expect different results. We may advise you to avoid some bad habits.

DO ask questions! We fully welcome questions, after all- you have to understand what's going on, that's part of getting better.
DON'T hesitate to bring someone along to your first appointment (i.e. spouse, special friend). Having another person present (another set of ears) can be helpful when trying to recall info once you leave.

A first-time mom brought in her 9-month old son last week. Her primary concern was his sleep. He wasn't sleeping well- frequently waking up, sleep seemed uncomfortable, was having jerky movements while asleep.

We evaluated the baby, and he was adjusted (T8 and C1, specifically). We have mom two simple things to do as "homework".

Today, mom came back with baby boy. She was thrilled to report several days of improved sleep, just after one appointment!

While there is no "sleep better adjustment", babies often do sleep better when their nervous system is better regulated!

This is WHY we recommend continued care, even after the pain goes away:

1- if you quit coming in as soon as your feel better, you're likely to relapse
2- rehabbing your muscles and ligaments takes time. Stabilization has nothing to do with how you're feeling
3- it's easier to MAINTAIN the progress you've made under care, rather than "starting over" every time there is another episode or flare-up

It's GUT CHECK time-
Can you do 10 real push-ups?

There is an 89-year-old man in the office who does 10 real push-ups every single day! He actually just did a second set of ten today after his morning adjustment.

Just another example of 'if you don't use it, you lose it'.

What we wish patients knew BEFORE they started care:
1- you didn't get this way overnight, healing takes TIME
2- chiropractic care can be GENTLE; an adjustment doesn't have to be scary
3- how FAST you get better depends on what you do OUTSIDE of the office

Most young women start care because they are having musculoskeletal pain and/or headaches. BUT, you'll never guess what else they experience...

- better periods (less pain, more regularity, normal flow)
- more energy
- improved sleep

*When we work on the spine, and we improved nervous system function, the whole body begins to work better!

Hello Blissfield area!

We would like to re-introduce ourselves! We are Drs. Dan and Ashley Bailey, the owners and chiropractors here at Bailey Family Chiropractic. Our journey began in Davenport, Iowa, when we were both students at Palmer College of Chiropractic. We met and got married while studying there, and of ALL the places to put down roots, we chose Blissfield, Michigan. (If you're curious, just ask how we ultimately picked Blissfield.)

We are starting our 17th year here, and we absolutely love serving the Blissfield community and surrounding area. We truly love our profession, we love helping people, and we love our community.

We are driven to be the healthiest versions of ourselves, so that we can be role-models for our children (we have 3 boys) and for our patients. We don't just talk it- we try our best to live the chiropractic philosophy! Afterall, it's chiropractic that brought us together ❤️
