Don't forget- tonight's the event!

Executive functioning is the brain’s “management system” that helps us plan, focus, regulate emotions, and follow through. They are essential for success in life, but can be tricky for kids to learn!

Join Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Julie Braciszewski, PhD, LP to discuss ways to support your child’s brain to develop the executive functioning skills they will need throughout their life.

This seminar goes beyond theory, offering concrete, real-world strategies you can use to help your child build independence, confidence, and resilience. Whether your child struggles with staying organized, managing emotions, or getting things done, you’ll leave with practical tools to support lasting growth—now and into adulthood.

Each year when we “spring forward” for daylight saving time, it’s striking how disruptive even just a one-hour change in sleep can be. Sleep is central to our mental health and functioning – and most of us are not getting enough. While Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for sleep disruption helps those with chronic sleep troubles, there are many small changes we can make that help all of us sleep better. Check out Sarah Engels, MS, TLLP’s blog for easy strategies to get better sleep tonight.

🍀 Happy St. Patrick’s Day! 🍀

Today is a great reminder that luck isn’t the only thing that helps us through tough times—support, resilience, and self-compassion matter too. Mental health journeys can have ups and downs, but every small step toward caring for yourself counts.

Take a moment today to check in with yourself and those around you. A kind word, a deep breath, or reaching out for support can make a meaningful difference.

Wishing everyone a day filled with connection, hope, and a little bit of Irish luck.

We all have difficulty wrapping our hearts and minds around tragic or violent events, like today’s act of violence at Temple Israel. Talking to our kids and teens about violent or tragic events can be especially difficult. Because these conversations can be so hard, and these days the world feels heavy with tragic and upsetting news, we’ve put together thoughtful guidance on approaching these hard discussions. We hope this connection brings comfort.

Dr. Julie testified before the Senate Committee on Finance, Insurance and Consumer Protection about legislation (Kids Over Clicks) seeking to make social media and AI chat platforms safer for young users. She shared most recent research findings, as well as what clinicians are seeing each and every day - that platform designs that make billions off of youth accounts are harming youth mental health.

✨Her testimony focused on how the developing brain can be particularly susceptible to the addictive features of digital platforms and risks associated with AI chatbots.

✨Dr. Julie stressed that parents are working hard to regulate their kids’ use of these platforms, but they need more ways to control what content their kids see, and ways to protect their kids from dangerous interactions, as well as the harms of targeted ads.

✨ Thoughtful regulation and responsible design can help ensure technology supports — rather than harms — the wellbeing of young people.
