On Tuesday, March 24, Kendal Clinic partnered with estate planning law firm Schluter & Hughes to present “A Candid Conversation: Growing Older in America” at Birmingham Next, a private non-profit located in Birmingham that supports residents age 50 and older.

The event featured Dr. Natasha Kendal, founder of Kendal Clinic, along with Attorney Hailey Burrell and RN/Care Coordinator Jamie Oldham of Schluter & Hughes. Together, they led an honest and informative discussion about aging in today’s world, covering how to start family conversations about important life decisions, aging in place, recent tax changes, and estate planning essentials.

Over 40 attendees joined the presentation. They were highly engaged, asking thoughtful questions and walking away with valuable resources like creating a File of Life, using budget-friendly pharmacies such as Advicare, exploring safe transportation options like GoGoGrandparent, and discovering educational sites including SeniorPlanet.org and MasterClass.com, plus book platforms like Libby, Hoopla, and Audible. It was a wonderful afternoon filled with connection, learning, and practical tools for planning a confident future.

Collaborations such as these highlight Kendal Clinic’s commitment to community and partnerships. We are here for you through all stages of life! If you’d like to learn directly from our esteemed founder Dr. Natasha Kendal, reach out to Kendal Clinic or visit Kendalclinic.com.

International Women’s Day was on March 8, and it comes with a reminder that women’s health has too often been overlooked. For many years, women were underrepresented in clinical research, which meant their unique needs and experiences weren’t fully understood in treatment planning.

At Kendal Clinic, we are committed to changing that story by offering evidence-based psychotherapy, medication management, and psychological testing that take women’s lives, bodies, and experiences seriously. Whether you’re navigating stress, trauma, caregiving, mood changes, or life transitions, you deserve care that is informed, respectful, and grounded in research.

If you or a woman you love could use support, we’re here to help. Learn more at kendalclinic.com.

Spring break can be a fun and memorable time for high school and college students, but it also comes with real risks around alcohol, drugs, and travel. Before your student heads out, try to have a calm, open conversation about:

- Your expectations around alcohol and drug use, and how to stay safe (never leave drinks unattended, have a sober friend, & know when to call for help).
- Travel safety basics: stay with trusted friends, share their location and itinerary with a parent/guardian, and have a plan if they feel unsafe.
- How they can reach out to you or another trusted adult without fear of “getting in trouble” if something goes wrong.

Let them know you’re not trying to spoil the fun; you’re trying to make sure they come home safe and sound.

If you or your student would like support navigating stress, peer pressure, or decision-making, Kendal Clinic is here to help. Learn more at kendalclinic.com. If you’d like to schedule with one of our clinicians, request an appointment here: https://kendalclinic.com/request-an-appointment/
