There has been an increase in Femicides. All with the same pattern. A woman was going through a divorce, custody, or recently separated. A woman is greatest at risk of being killed, right before a break up or immediately after. That probability increase if her abuser owns a fire arm. Safety is always and should be a Priority!! Unlocked:Family Secrets produced by OWN is a well done docuseris. One of my top 5!

Here are the take aways : Family Secrets leads to family dysfunction.

There is an emotional burden placed on the individual holding the secret. The secret almost always impacts 2 or 3 generations.

There is no protecting, or safe guarding of an individual by having them live a lie, or carry that type of emotional burden and psychological turmoil.
