April is Oral Cancer Awareness month. Every time you come in for your dental hygiene visit, your dentist or hygienist will perform an oral cancer screening to check for any lumps and bumps!

PSA: The clock is ticking! You officially have until the end of the year to get all the dental work you were planning on getting done before your insurance benefits expire for the year! ⠀⠀
Most insurances do not let you roll over your benefits to the next year, and those that do only allow a limited amount. So anything unused just expires once the calendar turns to Jan 1. ⠀⠀
So don’t put off that hygiene appointment any longer!

🎃 Don’t forget to wear a mask
🎃 Trick or treat outdoors/ Set up an outdoor station with self serve individually wrapped bags
🎃 Wash your hands before your handle the candy, and sanitize often while you’re out trick or treating!
🎃 Don’t forget to wear a mask! Your costume mask is not enough as it does not cover your mouth well.
🎃 Lastly, don’t forget to brush and floss your teeth before bed ( sorry, can’t resist putting that reminder out there!) 🎃

We talk a lot about teeth, so we’re going to talk about your tongue today! Did you know that regularly cleaning/ scraping your tongue can promote your taste ability and senses? I.e food will likely taste better ⠀⠀
Tongue scrapers can be metal or plastic- we prefer metal as it’s better for the environment, and lasts a lot longer than the plastic ones. ⠀
