Member Spotlight 🌟 Kaden Porter

💛 Kaden is a fourth-year student pharmacist at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy.

🥼 She is a pharmacy intern at Wells Hometown Drug and will be joining the team full time after she graduates in May.

💉 Kaden has been involved in NCPA and APhA throughout pharmacy school. She served as the Immunization Chair for the college’s NCPA chapter where she organized vaccine clinics, helping her peers sharpen their vaccine administration skills while promoting public health.

💬 When asked about her APPE rotation with IPA, Kaden noted the opportunities to network and advocate for the profession. She also mentioned IPA’s Standard of Care Symposium: “It was great to hear about the many ways Iowa pharmacists are implementing SOC into their practice.”

✨ Employee Spotlight: Mylo Wells, PharmD – Owner ✨

From day one, Mylo Wells, PharmD has been involved in every part of Wells Hometown Drug—and that hands-on approach continues today. Serving in a float role, Mylo’s day-to-day work spans multiple areas, including staffing the pharmacies in Bloomfield and Keosauqua, serving as pharmacist in charge at Van Buren County Hospital, and providing care as a provider in our pharmacist-led clinic.

Mylo enjoys doing a little bit of everything, believing that staying closely connected to daily operations helps him make thoughtful, informed decisions as an owner. At his core, he’s always thinking about how Wells Hometown Drug can continue to grow and improve—whether that’s through adding new services or strengthening areas where there’s room to do better. His goal is simple but powerful: every single patient should have a high-quality experience.

Just as important to Mylo is supporting and empowering the team. He believes the success of the pharmacies starts with the people who show up every day, and when employees are given the tools and encouragement to grow, everyone benefits.

When it comes to Iowa seasons, Mylo doesn’t complain much—especially compared to the rest of his family who farm—but if he had to choose, fall wins, thanks to football season and his love for the game at every level.

Outside of work, Mylo stays busy with his wife Jackie and their two boys, Freddie (5) and Isaiah (2). As a family, they enjoy spending time outdoors arrowhead hunting, fishing, and gardening when the weather allows. Mylo also loves watching and playing sports with his boys, siblings, and family. Jackie owns her own physical therapy business, so life stays full—and busy.

Above all, Mylo and Jackie are grateful for the support of their families and the communities they serve. They’re thankful to be raising their children in the same place they grew up, and while pharmacy or physical therapy may be in the future, one thing is certain—the boys will spend time working on the farm first, learning the value of a strong work ethic.

We’re proud of the leadership, vision, and heart Mylo brings to Wells Hometown Drug, and grateful for the communities that make this all possible.

✨ Employee Spotlight: Sadie Waldron, Pharmacy Support Person ✨

At our Keosauqua location, Sadie Waldron has been part of the Wells Hometown Drug team for six months. As a pharmacy support person, she enjoys meeting new people in the community and working alongside her friendly coworkers, helping create a welcoming experience for everyone who comes through the doors.

Fall is Sadie’s favorite season—she loves the cooler weather, the beautiful fall colors, and of course, football season. Outside of work, Sadie stays busy competing at rodeos and roping, spending time outdoors, and curling up with a good book. She also enjoys hunting with her boyfriend, Braden, hanging out with friends, and indulging in her love for all things coffee.

We’re grateful for Sadie’s positive attitude and the energy she brings to our Keosauqua pharmacy every day.

✨ Employee Spotlight: Malorie Tharp, Business Manager ✨

You may not always see Malorie Tharp at the counter, but her impact is felt across all Wells Hometown Drug locations as our Business Manager. Serving in a float role, Malorie has been part of our team for almost five years. She began working part-time in April of 2021 and stepped into a full-time role in May of 2023.

Malorie enjoys working behind the scenes, helping the business run smoothly while continuously learning and taking on new challenges. She finds fulfillment in collaborating with our incredible staff and supporting patient care in meaningful ways, even when that work happens out of the spotlight.

Fall is Malorie’s favorite season—she loves the changing colors, the harvest season, and cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones. Outside of work, Malorie married her husband Kade last September and enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking and baking, and relaxing with a good book.

We’re thankful for Malorie’s dedication, attention to detail, and the heart she brings to supporting both our team and our patients every day.
