When my daughter Kendall whispered, “Mommy, please don’t let me die here,” after her Type 1 Diabetes diagnosis, my world cracked—but it also awakened something unstoppable.

From that moment, the Kendall Wyche Foundation was born—not out of charity, but out of necessity. Out of grit. Out of generational love. 💙

Today, families are still facing this diagnosis without resources, without access, without hope. We are changing that with:

It’s hard to believe it’s been a whole year since the Kendall Wyche Foundation, Inc. was born out of one mother's unwavering love and determination to create change for her daughter living with Type 1 Diabetes. What started as a personal journey has sparked a movement in diabetes advocacy, and today, we are proud to say that we’re just getting started! 💪

In just one year, we've built partnerships, launched impactful initiatives like MindCare T1D, E.A.T., and EmpowerED, and worked tirelessly to increase awareness about the emotional, physical, and financial challenges of Type 1 Diabetes in underserved communities. Every time I step off the stage, I take a few days to pause and reflect—it's essential to me. I consider what flowed well, where I connected most deeply, and where I might have left more room for engagement or insight. It's a humbling and empowering practice because growth happens in those quiet moments of self-reflection. The recent feedback was overwhelmingly positive—100% found the session valuable, and 95% would welcome the chance to hear me speak again. That kind of affirmation reminds me that when we speak from the heart, when we are authentic, people feel it. They resonate with it. But I know there’s always more to give, more wisdom to share, and more hearts to touch.

As I look toward the next time I step up to the microphone, I am filled with gratitude and the promise of delivering a more refined, even more impactful experience. Because every opportunity to engage is a chance to uplift, empower, and remind people of their incredible potential. And I am here for all of it.

I had to hit the ground running this morning! I’ve been up and moving and doing all the things since about 5:30 and now we are preparing to get her out of the house and off to school. There’s no school bus this morning so that’s a whole other ball of wax.

I think it’s important for people to know that they can do whatever they set their minds to. I have operated for many years in the corrections world and have now joined the diabetes community. One thing for sure is that I show up!
