Spring break is almost here!✈️☀️
If you're planning a trip away—whether it's internationally or to a place in the U.S. with a measles outbreak—add protecting yourself and your family from measles to your list.
The best defense against measles is the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccination. Any who is not fully vaccinated against measles is at risk.
➡️You should be fully vaccinated at least 2 weeks before you leave.
➡️If your trip is less than 2 weeks away and you're not protected, you should still get a dose of MMR. One dose is still 93% effective.
➡️If you have a baby who is not old enough to be vaccinated yet, talk to your child's pediatrician about getting an early dose of the MMR vaccine.
➡️Watch for measles symptoms for 3 weeks after you return. Call the doctor right away if you think you've been exposed to measles.
