We were so excited to welcome one of our amazing volunteers, Judy! Judy spends her summers in Ely, MN working closely with black bears and recently shared her incredible experiences with our assisted living residents.

During her visit, she showed clips, photos, and videos of the bears, played the different sounds they make to express emotions, and talked about what to expect when observing them in the wild. Residents even got to watch part of a documentary about Dr. Lynn Rogers, who Judy works closely with.

The room was filled with smiles, laughter, a few happy tears, and lots of “awws” as everyone learned more about these fascinating animals. Our residents absolutely loved this special educational session!

Thank you, Judy, for volunteering your time and bringing such a unique and memorable experience to our community. 💛🐻

During Employee Appreciation Week, we treated our staff to a free Mediterranean meal! The lines were out the door, but the smiles were even bigger. It was wonderful to see so much joy and connection throughout the building. We’re grateful for our amazing team every day! 💙🥙✨

Employee Appreciation Week started with something special, customized Masonic backpacks for our incredible team! Today’s event was all about making our Masonic backpacks uniquely yours, from handmade buttons and leather stamping to custom motel keychains! 🎉🎒

Who knew Tic Tac Toe could be this creative? Last week, our amazing assisted living residents got creative and made their very own custom Tic Tac Toe boards! Each board was as unique as the resident who created it. We always love seeing our residents express themselves and have fun together.

So now who is ready for a game? ❌⭕

Nothing brings out smiles quite like baby goats from Goat Shine! One of the most well-attended and beloved events at the Masonic Home is when these adorable little visitors come to brighten the day for everyone, residents, staff, and families alike. The laughter, cuddles, and pure joy say it all! 🐐💛

Last week we celebrated Valentine’s Day with a special Happy Hour filled with fun, laughter, and lots of heart! ❤️ Residents enjoyed dressing up with festive glasses and lip accessories, creating joyful memories together. Events like these are what make our community so special. 💕

Honestly? Not much beats pancakes and good company. A trip to Perkins is great…but a trip to Perkins with friends makes it even better! Our residents enjoyed a delicious lunch filled with pancakes, onion rings, omelets, burgers, and so much more. The best part wasn’t just the food, it was the laughter, stories told, and time spent together.🥞✨

Spend four hours of your time this week and save you money for the next three years!

There is still time to sign up for this week’s AARP Driver Safety Class, hosted at The Masonic Home on Wednesday, February 4, from 12:00–4:00 PM.

If you are 55 or older, this course can help you qualify for a 10% auto insurance discount for the next three years. In fact, Minnesota auto insurance providers are required to offer a discount to drivers who complete a verified course like this one.
