November is National Home Care & Hospice Month, and we’re proud to recognize the caregivers, aides, therapists, and teams who make quality care accessible for all of our clients and families.

Across Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Indiana, our teams deliver skilled, compassionate care that supports the communities we serve.

All month long, we’ll be celebrating the people behind the vital care Interim provides.

“Daniele is an angel and her willingness to share her time with our family makes a challenging situation more hopeful.”

Doug’s family shared this beautiful note about our hospice volunteer, Daniele. Each week, she spends time reading with Doug and helping him stay connected to friends and family by typing emails and sharing conversation.

Volunteers like Daniele show us that small acts of kindness can make a big difference.

What an incredible day for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Columbus! 💜

Our Interim HealthCare team — along with several family members and leadership from across the company — showed up to walk, remember, and support those impacted by Alzheimer’s.

It was a day full of hope, connection, and purpose, and thanks to everyone’s generosity, we raised $7,242.32 to help fund research, advocacy, and care for families.

We walk for those we love, for those we’ve lost, and for a future without Alzheimer’s.

At Interim HealthCare, we believe mental health is an essential part of care that supports the mind, body, and spirit.

As the National Coalition for Hospice and Palliative Care reminds us, “Mental health is not a luxury in palliative care - it is a necessity.”

Emotional well-being is just as vital as physical comfort, for patients, families, and the caregivers who serve them. This World Mental Health Day, we honor the importance of compassion, connection, and care for the whole person.

Why I Walk

My Nana, Jean, and great-grandmother, Clara, were both lost to Alzheimer’s.

Nana was an outgoing, adventurous spirit, a competitive roller skater, hula hooper, swimmer, and avid golfer. We walk to honor her memory, to celebrate the life she lived, and the legacy she left behind.

And we walk to fight for a future where no family has to endure the heartbreak of watching someone they love disappear before their eyes. 💜

Just like our furry, feathered, and scaly friends thrive surrounded by love at home, so do the people we care for. Healing at home encourages a return to routine, improved quality of life, and the companionship of family - pets included.

Here are some of the pets who bring comfort and joy to our team members’ homes — share yours in the comments! 🐾

Why I Walk

Alzheimer’s has touched our family across generations. My grandmother lived with the disease for many years, and my grandfather cared for her every step, even learning to cook and bake in his late 80s to take care of her. Today at 95, he’s still going strong and baking for us all.

More recently, my mom was diagnosed. My dad has become her rock. He and I talk daily and find ways to laugh at the little moments in my mom’s world.

As a healthcare provider, I’ve cared for families in their journey, but now I see it firsthand. Through it all, my family and I have learned to cherish every moment.

By participating in the Pittsburgh Walk to End Alzheimer’s, I hope to make a difference for my family and for others. Our team has already raised nearly half of our goal, and we’re just getting started.

Why I Walk

I walk for my aunt, a selfless caregiver who works full-time and still cares for my grandmother living with Alzheimer’s. Her strength and love inspire me more than words can say.

Alzheimer’s has touched my family for generations, from my great-grandmother to my grandmother today. It’s heartbreaking to feel like you’re losing someone mentally while they’re still here physically. But watching my aunt’s dedication reminds me why this fight matters.

I walk for her, for all caregivers, and for the hope of a cure.

🌟 Core Value Recognition – Customer-Focused 🌟
We’re proud to celebrate Shauna Burrows!

Shauna demonstrates what it means to be truly customer-focused. When her team was short-staffed during open enrollment, Shauna stepped up without hesitation. She personally reached out to dozens of employees, ensured everyone had the help they needed, and ultimately achieved 100% enrollment — all while maintaining warmth and positivity.

Shauna is a true example of what it looks like to live out our core values with the goal of always being there. 💙
