Big love for our doula team 🤍

Our doulas recently decided to shift into a partnered model, which means clients now get two doulas for the price of one. More support, more continuity, more hands and hearts in your corner.

If you’re curious what that looks like or want more details, shoot me a message or an email at info@btownbirth.com— happy to share 💫

Recently I’ve been reflecting on how “Christmas break” isn’t always much of a break at all. Between the holidays, parenting, travel, extra spending, disrupted routines, and all the emotional layers… it can leave a lot of us feeling pretty depleted as we head into the new year.

That’s why I’m so grateful that Ashke is offering a community Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE) session on Sunday 02/01 at 10:45am.

TRE is a gentle, body-based practice that helps your nervous system release stored stress and tension — without having to talk it all out. It can support:

• feeling more grounded and regulated
• better sleep and digestion
• reduced anxiety and chronic tension
• a calmer, more resilient start to the year

If your body is craving a reset as we move into this next season, this is a really supportive way to begin.

Little details matter ✨

I’m always thinking about how to create the most positive, comfortable experience possible for my clients. When I saw another therapist offering nasal breathing strips for clients who are prone, I immediately thought, that is brilliant—so now they’re here for you.
You’ll also find individual body refreshing wipes and hair ties available, because sometimes it’s the small things that make it easier to fully relax and settle in. 💆‍♀️

If there’s ever something that would make your session feel even better, I’m always open to suggestions. My goal is to have all your bases covered so you can focus on resting, breathing, and receiving. 💙

Last close of the year ✨
Thankful for every family and every practitioner who filled this space with care and trust in 2025.
Always grateful to do this work, and deeply aware of the privilege it is.
Ready for what’s next. 💫

Sometimes your massage therapist (hi, it’s me 👋🏼) will lovingly kick you off the table and onto hands-and-knees so I can gently shimmy your baby into a better spot. Not the most conventional moment in a session… but after 10+ years of perinatal bodywork, I know what actually works.

I don’t stress about breech or transverse babies. They move when there’s space. And massage can create that space — softening tension, balancing the pelvis, easing the uterine ligaments, and giving baby the opportunity to naturally rotate into a position that’s more comfortable for both of you.

Did you know prenatal massage can even support more optimal birth outcomes? Wild (and wonderful), right?

I’m usually booked out months ahead, but if you or someone you know is trying to encourage baby into a better position for an upcoming version, induction, or birth, text me directly. I’ll always try my best to squeeze you in if I can.

I love this work so much. 💛

✨ Only 2 Days Left to Register! ✨
We’ve got just TWO spots left for Ashke’s Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE) community session — and you truly don’t want to miss this one.

This is a chance to gently reset your nervous system, release deeply-held tension, and leave feeling grounded, lighter, and more connected to your body.

Photo is of me (Kari) cracking up: I was shocked to discover the exercises do, in fact, elicit a tremor response and you don't, in fact, control that response. It was an amazing exercise in listening to and observing my own body. That smile hung around long after the session was over.

🧘‍♀️ Sunday • 10:45 AM
🌿 Small group • Sliding scale $15–$30
💚 Led by our very own Ashke

If you’ve been curious about TRE or craving a moment of real calm, this is your sign. Snag your spot before we fill up! DM or email hello@btownbirth.com for more information or to register.

🌿 Sooooo yesterday I tried Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE®) with Ashke at my studio—and honestly, I didn’t know what to expect.

Ashke had explained that we'd do these gentle exercises to activate the body’s natural tremor response—kind of like how animals shake after stress to reset their nervous systems—but part of me thought… 'watch me be the only one who doesn't shake!' and 'yeah, but are TRE recipients faking it?' and 'how does this even work?'

But sure enough, after following Ashke’s guidance, my body started to tremor on its own. It was so weird. It began in my legs and hips and just kept going—small, rhythmic shaking that felt oddly natural and deeply releasing. It reminded me of that little twitch or muscle spasm that happens just when you're falling asleep? Only it happened over and over and over. I focused on relaxing and letting my body do what it needed.

Afterward, I felt incredibly calm. My body was a little tired, but light. I slept SO deeply last night. I feel great today. It honestly feels like my nervous system just exhaled.

As someone who works with the body every day, I understand how trauma and tension can get stored in our tissues. TRE feels like the ultimate bio-hack for processing... THIS is is what completing a stress cycle looks like. The body doesn’t always need words—it needs movement and permission to let go.

💙 If you’ve been curious about somatic healing, this is a beautiful place to start. Email me at kari@btownbirth.com to register for Ashke's upcoming community event this Sunday or for more info.
