Next week I’m headed to Baltimore to attend the iaedp Foundation Annual Global Symposium.
I’ll also be moderating and serving as a panelist for a conversation titled:
“Ultra-Processed Food Use Disorder in Eating Disorder Treatment.”
This is a nuanced and sometimes emotionally charged topic — and that’s exactly why it matters.
My hope is to bring both science and compassion to the table, especially for individuals struggling with loss-of-control eating who haven’t found relief in traditional models.
I’m grateful to be part of a field that’s willing to evolve, ask hard questions, and keep centering the people we serve.

In case you missed it, catch this interview with our Keynote, Dr Carolyn Black Decker. Carolyn traces how she became fascinated by the research–practice gap and why exposure therapy, despite its strong evidence base, remains underused in eating disorder treatment. She breaks down the crucial distinction between evidence-based interventions and evidence-based practice.
