Advanced Rehab & Sports Medicine Advanced Rehab & Sports Medicine is a professional therapy services corporation established to provide outstanding outpatient physical therapy.

The company was founded in 1997 by Christopher Byers, PT, and Michael Salaway, MSPT, as a physical therapy provider to area nursing homes and home health agencies. Since then, it has grown to encompass nine outpatient physical therapy centers throughout Central Illinois and Quad Cities, offering all levels of physical rehabilitation. This growth and development allow us to be involved in the entire continuum of care related to physical rehabilitation services. Both Chris and Mike have always believed that when there is a will, there is a way. From the start, their vision was to build a new kind of rehabilitation company that provided residents of small towns with peace of mind that they could access the most advanced rehab care solutions and modern technology available. At the core of our mission is a conviction that people can be helped to regain mobility, strength, and hope.

Cameron, Galesburg’s latest success story, asked for a picture of us pulling his leg for his graduation photo. Despite Cam’s joking nature, he reports, “I can now play sports, lift weights and I don’t have to worry about my knee.” We wish him the very best. Also, a shoutout to Cassidy Grady, who will soon graduate from Clarke University’s DPT program. She’s done an amazing job on her last clinical.

Advanced Rehab - Monmouth clinic has been seeing this gentlemen for 3 months. When he first came to ARSM he was in a wheelchair, he could use a walker but it was very unstable and he used the walker for all his mobility. He now is able to perform 12 sit to stands in 30 seconds and has been walking with his cane in the clinic and at home. He's made great progress and he's still gaining.

Since then, it has grown to encompass eight outpatient physical therapy centers throughout central Illinois offering all levels of physical rehabilitation as well as providing services to area home health agencies, skilled nursing facilities, and various other healthcare providers. This growth and development allows us to be involved in the entire continuum of care as it related to physical rehabilitation services.
