Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Today we honor St. Patrick and his legacy of faith, service, and compassion. His life reminds us of the power of hope and the call to care for one another, especially those most in need.

May this day be filled with blessings, gratitude, and a renewed commitment to serving our neighbors with love and kindness.

This week is Sleep Awareness Week. Sleep plays an essential role in our physical health, emotional well being, and ability to care for one another.

At Catholic Charities Bloomington, we see how stress, uncertainty, and hardship can affect sleep for individuals and families in our community. That’s why we remain committed to walking alongside those in need, offering support, stability, and hope.

This week, and all year long, we encourage everyone to prioritize rest, practice healthy sleep habits, and extend compassion to neighbors who may be struggling to get the rest they need.

Caring for the whole person starts with caring for the body and the mind.

With Valentine’s Day approaching, it’s a good reminder that love isn’t just about relationships with others—it’s also about caring for yourself. Taking time to rest, asking for support, and practicing kindness toward yourself are important parts of overall well-being.

Whether that means setting boundaries, checking in on your mental health, or reaching out when things feel overwhelming, self-care matters. You deserve compassion, dignity, and support—today and every day.

If you or someone you care about could use extra support, Catholic Charities Bloomington is here for you.

At Catholic Charities Bloomington, we believe every child deserves the tools and support to thrive emotionally and mentally. This week is a reminder to check in, listen, and create safe spaces for kids to express their feelings.

Our counseling services, including specialized therapies like Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), help children heal and build resilience.

Together, we can nurture hope and well-being for the next generation.

At Catholic Charities Bloomington, we use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to help the brain heal after traumatic events. EMDR works by allowing both sides of the brain to communicate, reducing the fight-or-flight response tied to painful memories.

In October 2025, the Catholic Charities Bloomington Agency (CCB) Council hosted community members at the Hinkle-Garten Farmstead for an afternoon of food, music, and conversation. Guests toured the historic property and learned how Catholic Charities makes mental health care accessible in Bloomington and surrounding areas.

Thanks to the council's hard work and the generosity of attendees, more than $25,000 in donations and pledges were raised to support CCB's services for children and youth in 2026.
