💛 Tomorrow is International Day of Friendship! 🤝

At Catholic Charities Bloomington, we know that healing begins with connection. Whether it's a child building trust with a counselor, a family finding support in a time of need, or a community coming together to care for one another—friendship is at the heart of what we do.

As we prepare to celebrate tomorrow, let’s remember the importance of kindness, empathy, and showing up for others. Every relationship we nurture helps create a stronger, more compassionate Bloomington. 🌟

July is Minority Mental Health Awareness Month — a time to recognize the unique mental health challenges faced by communities of color and to advocate for more inclusive, accessible care.

At Catholic Charities Bloomington, we recognize that mental health support isn’t one-size-fits-all. Cultural background, life experience, and systemic challenges all impact how individuals experience and access care. That’s why we are committed to providing compassionate, informed counseling for individuals and families in our community.

This month and every month, let’s work together to break down barriers, reduce stigma, and ensure that no one walks their mental health journey alone.

We’re grateful to announce that Catholic Charities Bloomington recently received a $20,000 grant from the Jack Hopkins Social Services Committee of the Bloomington City Council!

This funding will help low‑income Bloomington residents who have experienced trauma access high‑quality therapy, including treatments like EMDR, Internal Family Systems, and Play Therapy. These evidence‑based approaches can help individuals process trauma and develop healthier ways to cope and heal.

With nearly 50% of our clients utilizing our income‑based self‑payment program and many more relying on Medicaid, this grant ensures that finances are NOT a barrier to receiving the care they deserve.

Thank you, Jack Hopkins Committee, for supporting our mission and making a difference in the lives of those we serve!
