Congratulations to our Critter Comforts and Cozy Nights winner. This basket includes a gift basket from The Pipsqueakery with a coloring book and their adorable rescue themed stickers, a Harry Potter no sew throw fleece blanket kit donated by Michaels, and a ten dollar Jimmy Johns gift card.

What a day! 🐶🐱💛
Bloomington showed up big today, from vendors to fluffy visitors to pets in costumes, we had such a joyful afternoon surrounded by our community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, bought raffle tickets, made blankets, met our vendors, and helped us raise funds for DSI’s Client Emergency Fund. Your support goes directly toward helping clients in moments of crisis.

🎁 2 Days Until Pawtumn Fest

Today we are highlighting all the amazing raffle prizes you can win this Sunday. Every raffle ticket you purchase directly supports DSI Bloomington’s Client Emergency Fund, which helps our clients with developmental disabilities during unexpected financial hardships. This fund is used when no other resources are available and can help cover urgent needs like housing, utilities, medical expenses, transportation, new beds, winter coats, broken glasses between Medicare coverage periods, and more. It is usually a one time support that fills the gap when something unexpected happens.

Here are some of the incredible prizes donated by our community partners

• Gift basket from The Pipsqueakery including a coloring book and adorable stickers they designed to help support more critters and rescued animals
• Five 10 dollar gift cards from Jimmy Johns
• House of Paws Grooming gift certificate and three free nail trim coupons with a total value of up to 185 dollars

Raffle tickets are 2 dollars each or 3 tickets for 5 dollars. You can stop by the event, purchase tickets, leave your contact information, and we will draw the winners at the end of the event. No need to stay the entire time. We will contact the winners afterward.

🎉 3 Days Until Pawtumn Fest ! 🎉

We’re officially three days away from Bloomington’s coziest pet-themed community event, and we are getting everything ready for you!

🧵✨ Yards and yards of adorable fleece fabrics have arrived, and our staff spent this afternoon learning how to make the no-sew fleece blankets so we can help you every step of the way on Sunday.
Whether you want to create a blanket for your own fur friend or donate one to the Bloomington Animal Shelter, the blanket-making station is completely free, and all materials are provided!

🐾 Join us this Sunday for an afternoon filled with:
• Local pet vendors & rescues (PALS, The Pipsqueakery, MCHA, House of Paws Grooming, and Animal Career Advancement Club!)
• Free fleece blanket crafting
• DIY Hot Cocoa for a good cause
• DSI onsite jobs interview
• And, of course...Raffle prizes for amazing gift baskets to support people with developmental disabilities in our community.

We can’t wait to see everyone come together to support local rescues, celebrate pets, and spread some warmth — literally. 💛

🐾 Vendor Spotlight: Animal Career Advancements Club at Indiana University 🐾

We’re excited to welcome the Animal Career Advancements Club to this year’s Pawtumn Fest ! 🐕

This brand-new student organization helps IU students explore careers in veterinary medicine, wildlife conservation, and animal sciences through networking events, guest speakers, volunteer opportunities, and hands-on experiences. Members gain real-world skills, learn about graduate school preparation, and support local animal-related organizations, all while making a positive impact in the community.

Come meet the members of this passionate new organization and learn how they’re building future careers dedicated to the care and protection of animals.

Join us for Pawtumn Fest on Sunday, November 16th, from 12–4 PM at 200 E. Experience the transformative power of the human–horse connection with People & Animal Learning Services (PALS)! Located right here in Bloomington, PALS provides equine-assisted services that inspire emotional, cognitive, social, and physical growth for people of all backgrounds and abilities. Their programs are led by PATH and CHA Certified Instructors who specialize in creating safe, empowering, and life-enriching experiences through hands-on activities with horses.
