Here's the story of how I followed my calling and went from being a nurse to a business owner:
I started working at a college health center almost 12 years ago, and I kept noticing an unmet need among the students. So many of them were really sick, far from home, and didn't have all the things they needed to make their sick days a little more manageable - tissues, noodle soup, salt for a salt water gargle, or lip balm - and it really bothered me.
I talked with a lot of worried parents who lived out of town, and they always asked me "Is there a service that will bring my kid the stuff they need to make them more comfortable?... Do I need to come out there to take care of him/her?" As a mother myself, it was very hard to tell them that I didn't know of any local resources that offered this support.
And so it began. If I wanted a product and service like this to be available to students to support them and their parents, then I was gonna have to create it. The idea became a calling, and it would not be ignored. So in August of 2024 I launched Kit Well Co. so I could be there to support students and their families when they need it most.
